It was a strange interview process. After two phone screens and a long gap of about 5-6 weeks, they invited me to interview with team members in Columbus, Ohio. I had some uneasy feelings about the 'interview' as it seemed like they might have already made offers to other candidates and were just looking for some 'brain picking'. The day-long session started with detailed questions about 'sustaining Lean' (something I think they are struggling with). I immediately sensed it was a "let's see if he can share his company's success" kind of situation. I alluded to generalities about sustainment and kept that up all day after 5 rounds of talking to team members, all focused on sustaining Lean. As expected, the rejection note came only after I followed up two weeks later. There were too many giveaways that their 'interview' process wasn't done in good faith. Anyway, for experienced professionals, beware of their ploys.

I'm a contractor for Nationwide, hired via a third-party vendor to work there. The hiring process was straightforward and fast. I had a phone screen with my employer's recruiter (not Nationwide's) before the holidays in December. My info was then sent to the Nationwide Hiring Manager electronically. I also submitted my application and references through the same system, which seemed to go well. The Hiring Manager requested work samples, which I sent to the recruiter. Then, I was scheduled for a phone interview, not in-person, which surprised me, but I did notice they checked my LinkedIn. It was convenient to interview during lunch without leaving my desk. The next day, they offered me the job! The entire process took about 30 days, even with the holiday season.

The interviewers were really nice and easy to talk to. We started with short intros and then got straight to the questions. The whole thing was about 50 minutes, and they let me know about the offer about a week to 10 days later.
