Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Nationstar Mortgage.
Analyst
There were 2 interview rounds, with 2 managers each. The interviews were simple and asked about my experience, how I handle pressure and work with others. They also asked if I could work overtime, and about my weaknesses and strengths.
- Can you tell us about yourself?
Analyst
Applied on LinkedIn and got a call from HR pretty quickly, asking about my background. She then set up an in-person interview for the next week. It was a 30-minute chat with an AVP and a Manager where they asked standard behavioral questions and some job-specific ones. Even though I felt the AVP was a bit cold, I got an offer the next day. Definitely try to negotiate salary because they tend to start low, but it worked out for me to get a better offer than my last job.
- Describe a situation where you had to work with difficult team members.
Analyst
I talked with a senior manager and a VP. We went over my background and why I was interested in the company. We talked about the good and bad parts of my past jobs. I asked them a lot of questions to show I knew the industry.
- What improvements did you make in your previous position?
