There was only 1 round, but it was a panel with 7 Research Fellows. The questions were all about the subject matter, focusing on knowledge of key energy issues in Asia and related past work. They wanted to know about my previous research, publications, and my method for academic research. Make sure you go through your resume and can back up everything with evidence.

I applied for a role advertised, but upon reviewing my CV, they suggested a different, more interesting position. I had two interviews, neither with the PI, but with about four post-docs. I also got a brief lab tour when I asked. The interviewers were friendly, making it more of a chat than a formal interview. After the first interview, I was asked to have my referees send references privately to the PI. The interviews were a month apart, and the offer came another month later. A week after the PI's email offer, HR contacted me for document submission. HR mentioned their internal processing would take about two more months. In total, from the first interview to my start date, it's roughly five months, so be ready for a long process.

So the job description said shortlisted candidates would be invited for a test and interview. I did the test and interview, but then they hit me with another test, which wasn't in the original plan. They didn't even tell me about it beforehand and then rushed me to take leave from my job to do it, even though I told them I had a lot of urgent work stuff. The interview itself was also set up really badly, before they even checked the test results. And to top it all off, they never even bothered to reject me.
