I went through an AI interview where I had to answer a bunch of questions and record myself on video. The questions were pretty basic and not that hard to answer, but some of them didn't really seem to relate to the job I was applying for.

It's an asynchronous interview process where you record your answers to pre-determined questions. You don't interact with a real person, and you won't hear back unless they're interested in hiring you.

I applied online at the NRO website. A few days later, I got an email for a virtual interview using HireVue. Then I never heard anything back. I even tried emailing the NRO at their help email address but never got a reply. No job offer, no rejection, no interview feedback. This was three months ago. Terrible experience when a company or agency cannot even update candidates. I would have at least liked an automated rejection email like most companies do now.

After applying, I did a Hirevue interview within a week. It had 5 questions, and I had 4 tries per question. I got 1:30 minutes to prep each question. It was pretty simple. The recruiter and hiring manager were anonymous.

  • Tell me about your experience with acquisitions.
