First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at National Kidney Foundation.
Development Manager
I went through several interviews for a Development position at NKF. I had one with HR in NY and another with the Executive Director in NC, even though I lived in a different state. I followed up with both multiple times but never heard back about the final interview. It's really frustrating when they don't circle back to let candidates know they should keep looking, especially when they seemed really interested. Job searching is tough enough without being ghosted and left hanging.
- Can you tell me about a conflict you experienced at work or when managing volunteers and how you resolved it?
Resource Manager
The interview was professional, and I liked that it was a combination of questions from both parties.
- Are you comfortable leading a team?
Development Manager
The recruiter mentioned they had interviewed 7 candidates for this role without success. The interviewer seemed unprepared and confused our first interview with a subsequent one. Instead of asking me questions, she wanted me to ask her questions, which was quite strange. This might explain why the position has been open for a while.
- I was asked to ask her the questions.
