Inside Sales
The hiring process was quite lengthy, spanning several months from my initial application in November to the actual interviews in March. I was initially left out of the first group but was later included in a second group for interviews.
- Can you tell me about your five-year career goals?
Sales Representative
The process was patient and intensive, and they really helped throughout. The people I worked with were kind and great. I would recommend working with the hiring managers again. Most questions were pretty simple and easy to answer, focusing on previous sales and customer experience.
- What makes you believe you'd be a good fit for this position?
Sales Representative
Had a phone chat with a recruiter who told me the job paid $47.5k base. Then I went for a face-to-face interview in Michigan where they explained the base salary situation more. It's $47.5k for the first 3 months, then it drops to $31.5k plus a draw against commissions. It felt like a bait and switch, so I'd ask about this upfront. I also met with two other staff members during the onsite. The office was pretty unprofessional with staff swearing. I also saw online reviews mentioning high turnover. The manager said he wanted someone who would 'slug it out' and 'starve' while building a sales territory. I had to take an online personality test. I told the hiring manager right away that I wasn't interested in that kind of role. They then mentioned two other positions they were hiring for, and I said I'd be open to those, though I suspect they might not be real. I was given a take-home personality assessment.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- What are your desired earnings?
- Which other businesses are you currently in talks with?
