The HR asked me to turn on my camera, which I wasn't keen on, but she insisted. When I turned it on and she saw my modest home, she started laughing and tried to hide it. Then the meeting began, and I was uncomfortable with her attitude, but I answered all her questions and spoke English as she requested. I think I did well in the interview. The next day, I got a rejection email saying they found a better engineer and that there was nothing wrong with my experience. Surprisingly, I saw that the company was still looking for the same position, and even another HR contacted me to apply for the same role on the same day I was rejected. I suspect the HR rejected me because I come from a poor background and wouldn't fit the company culture, despite my good experience, communication, and language skills.
