Software Developer
So first, there's a quick phone interview, then you talk to HR, after that you have a technical chat with the team leader, and the last step is talking to the head manager of the department.
- Can you tell me about databases and OOP?
- What do you know about the programming language we use?
- And what about the framework we are using for development?
Software Developer
The interview process had 3 online stages: first an HR chat, then a technical interview, and finally a meeting with the technical manager. Everyone involved was professional and helpful, and the whole process was well-organized, wrapping up in under two weeks.
- Can you tell me about your previous job?
- Could you describe some situations you've experienced?
- What sparked your interest in joining Nagwa?
Software Engineer
The HR asked me to turn on my camera, which I wasn't keen on, but she insisted. When I turned it on and she saw my modest home, she started laughing and tried to hide it. Then the meeting began, and I was uncomfortable with her attitude, but I answered all her questions and spoke English as she requested. I think I did well in the interview. The next day, I got a rejection email saying they found a better engineer and that there was nothing wrong with my experience. Surprisingly, I saw that the company was still looking for the same position, and even another HR contacted me to apply for the same role on the same day I was rejected. I suspect the HR rejected me because I come from a poor background and wouldn't fit the company culture, despite my good experience, communication, and language skills.
- May we conduct this interview in English?
