The interview was conducted at our college. The interviewers were nice and efficient. Some interviewers focused too much on minor details and didn't grasp certain technical concepts. The questions asked were not very clear, as they didn't provide additional constraints and only stated if your code was incorrect.

There were 2 rounds in the selection process. The 1st round was a pure technical round. I was asked to write code on a board and the interviewer asked questions around that code. The interviewer was delving deep into OOPS concepts, specifically inheritance. The 1st interview lasted for 1 hour 30 minutes. The 2nd round was a Tech+MR round. It was more on high-level code/design. The interviewer asked me about the implementation of different design patterns and asked me to implement the binary search algorithm. Both interviewers seemed to be big fans of recursion because we spent about 30 minutes on it. The 2nd round was around 50 minutes long.

So the candidate (5+ years experience) was asked to come at a specific time for an interview, but the panel showed up an hour late and were surprised when the candidate pointed it out, even checking their calendar. After asking lots of really good questions that the candidate answered, the interviewer commented 'good' and said it was just a prelim round, with a face-to-face interview (Face-2) scheduled for another day. The candidate felt taken for granted, maybe because the company assumed they were eager for the job. Since the candidate was told all rounds would be on the same day and had taken half a day off, they couldn't come back for another interview. The interviewer then arranged a telephonic discussion for the next week, scheduled for 8 o'clock and expected to last 1.5 hours. However, that evening, the candidate received an email saying, 'sorry, we cannot take you at this time.' This might have been due to salary expectations, but it's frustrating not to be told upfront so the candidate wouldn't have wasted effort interviewing on a weekday.
