Technical System Design

It was a five-step process that took about four weeks: HR call, technical interview, system design interview, hiring manager interview, and finally VP of engineering interview. Everyone was really nice and friendly. HR sent an email after each step saying I was still impressive. Then, I got rejected without any feedback. Save yourself the trouble, this company has a really long process.

The recruiter, Marie, was super responsive and made me feel valued. She told me about the benefits, asked about my salary expectations, and set realistic expectations, which she followed up on. The hiring manager and the interview panel were awesome. They turned the interview into a conversation, asked relevant questions, and were really open about the role, the team's goals, and what to expect. They also made me feel like I was a strong candidate, which boosted my confidence.

Behavioral Other

The interview process was very smooth and faster than what is normally expected. The position is new and we discussed how that would mean it is going to be a bit of a moving target. Our conversation lasted around 40 minutes and we discussed the company, their goals and how my role would look along with what it would become in time - the ability to adapt within a constantly shifting and fast-paced environment was very important. I was asked about my current position and how that would translate into this new, not yet fully defined position along with what goals I have for my career. It was a very pleasant discussion, though there were a few tough questions that required me to slow down and consider my answers thoroughly. At the end I was given the opportunity to ask my questions, which were mainly about company culture and mentorship. I also asked my interviewer about her journey with Mynd, what mentorship she received along the way and ultimately, what keeps her with the company. She shared her experience with me which made me feel very excited about joining the ranks. I was given an verbal offer the next day and the written offer came through from HR the next business day.

Behavioral

The whole interview process was super fast and efficient. A MYND recruiter emailed me first to ask about my background and some general questions. She was really nice and easy to talk to. The next day, I had my first interview on Google Meet, which lasted about 30 minutes. I felt pretty comfortable talking with the team at MYND. The day after that, I got an email for my second interview, with the same kinds of questions. Two days later, the recruiter called and offered me the job! I'm really excited to join this amazing startup!
