HR Manager
The interview process had a lot of steps: a video chat with a recruiter, a 1-way video where I had to answer four questions, a 2-hour question and answer session that needed a written response, and then a 1.5 hour interview. I understand the selection process is strenuous and many companies do it. My problem is that I spent over 5-6 hours on this process and got to the final step only to be told, 'I just don't think you have enough experience.' This should have been identified much earlier. Also, one of my interviewers was late and had connectivity issues, so I'm not sure she heard all my answers. They were also not transparent about compensation, saying 'we don't make six figures,' but I never got a salary range confirmation.
- Tell me about a time you handled a standard HR situation.
Human Resources Manager
It was just like everyone else said. First, a one-way video thing. Then, a Zoom call with Beth, the recruiter. After that, I had a 2-hour assignment, and that was it for me. I was bummed I didn't get further since the questions seemed pretty easy. Big thanks to Beth, though, she was super helpful and nice throughout the whole thing, just what you'd expect from someone in HR at an HR company.
- Tell me about the best part of your previous job.
- What did you dislike most about your last role?
Human Resources Manager
It was a pretty long interview process. First, there was a one-way interview where I had to answer some questions on a third-party platform via recorded video. If they liked my video, the next step was an in-person interview via Zoom, which was like a typical professional interview to get to know me and my experiences. This led to a second Zoom interview where they asked more about my experience and how it relates to the job. Then, I got a link for a personality assessment and a written answer report that I had to complete within a two-hour window. It's important to take this part seriously and focus.
