First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at MyFitnessPal.
Software Engineer
This interview process is super lengthy and they would string you along. First a phone screen by the recruiter, then another phone screen by the Hiring manager. Then a Technical Interview with 2 engineers. After that, a TAKE HOME PROJECT (Pure BS). If they like your project, they call you for 3 more video rounds of interview. Then a Meet the whole team round (About 8 people). After that, another Technical round and presentation of your project. Finally, Meet the director and hiring manager. Way too many rounds and it starts to feel like they just want to waste your time and string you along.
- Why are you interested in working here?
- Can you describe your leadership skills?
- We'll ask some technical questions based on the take-home assignment you completed.
Software Engineer
It was a phone screening where we discussed the job and the company. We also talked about my background and my interest in working at MyFitnessPal. It was a pretty straightforward behavioral interview.
- What makes you want to join MyFitnessPal?
Software Engineer
Applied online and got a recruiter call the next day. They set up a phone screen with the hiring manager, which was more of a fit check than technical. I got to ask questions about the role and company. Then, I had a coding exercise to build Rest web services, with a 2-day deadline, which I did over the weekend. After that, I was invited for onsite interviews, mostly panel sessions with two people. The first was a technical design round where I had to design and code a solution to a problem. The second was behavioral. The third was a code review of my take-home exercise with 10 team members asking random questions. The final interview was with the VP of engineering and the hiring manager. A few days later, the recruiter said my skillset wasn't the right match.
- Could you design and code an in-memory file system that is space-constrained?
