The interview process started with a recruiter screening call, then I spoke with a hiring manager, and after that, I interviewed with two designers from the team. If I had progressed, there would have been about two more rounds.

The interview process felt way too long with 9 interviews and was honestly an uncomfortable experience. I applied online and had an internal referral which got me a recruiter screening. After that went well, I had another interview. The hiring manager for this role was really nice and easy to talk to. Once I passed that, I went through multiple panel interviews with 3-5 people each, and they were all nice and asked really relevant questions. After each interview, the recruiter kept calling me, asking for my feedback on the interviewers without telling me what they thought. It felt like a waste of time, and they seemed worried that I was interviewing elsewhere. The recruiter kept pushing me for details about the other company, instead of reassuring me about MFP’s process. After a few more interviews, the recruiter started being inconsistent and pressured me hard to commit only to MFP, even without a formal offer. On top of that, they added another interview because they weren't sure if I was “senior” enough, which was the whole point of the previous interviews. Ultimately, I had to decline the offer because the whole process felt disorganized and unnecessary, and the recruiter’s interference really hindered things. The employees seemed like a great group of people to work with, but the internal processes seem a bit messy.
- Can you describe your process for taking product concepts all the way to delivery, particularly when collaborating with multiple teams?
- What is your approach to managing product concepts from inception to delivery, especially in cross-functional team settings?

I had an HR screening, then talked to the hiring manager. After that, there were two panel interviews and then a final one with the CPO. It took a lot of time and effort, but everyone was really great. They said they went with someone more experienced, so I didn't get an offer. I wish I had gotten more feedback considering how much time I put into the process. Overall, they seemed like a good company.
- Can you walk me through your design process?
- Tell me about a time you experienced failure.
- What other questions do you typically ask in design interviews?
