Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Mutual of Omaha.
Intern
The interview process was great. The recruiter explained the job expectations and company culture. However, recruiting practices could be improved because I was disqualified even though I was honest about my graduation date during the application and interview, and the role description said I was still eligible.
- Could you explain the importance of work diversity?
Intern
The interview was pretty standard. They didn't ask any behavior-based questions. It was more of a 'tell me about yourself' type of interview. The interviewer then shared their personal philosophy and how they managed their part of the company. The atmosphere was professional and polite. Overall, it was a positive experience.
- Could you introduce yourself?
- What have you been reading lately?
- What would you consider your strengths to be?
Intern
I had a phone call interview with HR and then a video interview on Teams with a finance leader and an associate. They were really nice and the company culture seems great.
- Can you share an instance where you learned something new?
- Describe a time when you implemented a change.
- Tell me about your experience working as part of a team.
