A recruiter from MuteSix reached out to me on LinkedIn for a Facebook Campaign Manager position. We had an initial phone call where she described the role and company, which went well. However, the interview process became disorganized, with my interview being canceled and rescheduled three times before the fourth attempt, which was late in the evening. The video interview was with Moody, who seemed disengaged, frequently saying 'cool cool,' checking and reading his messages, and losing his train of thought mid-conversation. When I asked about work-life balance, he responded dismissively, stating he works all the time, which struck me as a major red flag. The company appears to have a tiered employee structure with pre-defined salaries. They apparently hire at lower tiers than an individual's experience warrants, with very low pay that doesn't seem to vary by location. The tiers mentioned were: L1 (1-2 yrs exp, $60k), L2 (2-3 yrs exp, $65k), L3 (4+ yrs exp, managing a team, $70k+ commission to around $85k-90k), L4 ($115k average + commission), and L5 ($135k + team commission). It seems they only hire for L1-3 roles, with promotion to L4-5 requiring internal progression.

The interview process was questionable, making me wonder if it was due to racism or sheer incompetence. They seem to hire multiple people from the same companies, and it's incredibly obvious that they prefer hiring blonde white women over any other candidate, irrespective of their experience or knowledge. This situation is unacceptable, especially in today's world.

So first I had a phone screen with the recruiter, they asked me about my experience with Facebook ads and some general culture fit stuff. Then I had an in-person interview with 4 senior leaders on the Facebook team. They asked me about my experience with Facebook campaigns, then they answered my questions about the company, like how big the campaigns are, events, and growth opportunities.
