Program Coordinator
You'll have a phone interview and then an in-person interview. Make sure you know your stuff and have researched the position and company really well. For some MDA offices, definitely dress sharp. Don't hesitate to ask questions and keep a positive attitude.
- Can you share an example of when you performed xyz?
Program Coordinator
I submitted my résumé online and then got a call from the Regional office, who handles all the initial screening. The interview process included a phone interview, then a panel interview with two people from the Regional office and the Executive Director of the office I'd be working at. The interview had typical behavioral questions, like showing similar sales situations, and finished with me giving a personal presentation on why I'd be a good fit.
- Tell me about a time when...
- Can you tell if the office has had high turnover in this position?
- How quickly do they go through the questions?
Recruitment Coordinator
I had an in-person interview in a group setting with about ten other people for a Volunteer Recruitment Coordinator position, where they were looking to hire 2-4 people. The Fundraising Coordinator led the interview. She asked us questions about how we handle rejection and stay motivated. She also had us read a phone script while she faced away to simulate a phone call, which was a bit nerve-wracking, and I was glad I didn't have to go first!
- How do you maintain motivation when facing frequent rejection?
- What strategies do you employ to stay motivated despite repeated setbacks?
