The interview process took about 4 weeks and included an initial chat with the hiring manager, Rachael (Director of Data Analytics), followed by a tech assessment, and then a final group interview with Rachael and some team members. I was told I'd get a tech assessment form within a week after the first interview, but I never did. I had to follow up with Rachael in the second week to get it. The assessment was pretty standard, asking for schema layouts and a sample Tableau report. After submitting that, I got scheduled for the final interview where they asked typical behavioral questions. Rachael said I'd hear back the following week, but after 3 weeks of silence, my email to her went unanswered. I really wanted the job because I believed in the company's mission and was even willing to take a pay cut to contribute. It turns out, based on Glassdoor, this 'ghosting' experience for a similar role isn't a one-off.

I had a phone screening first, about 30 minutes. Then I went in person for an hour. After that, there was a group interview with 3 people for 90 minutes. It was a behavioral interview and they asked about specific skills needed and wanted examples from my past.

I interviewed with the hiring manager and two team members, and then again with the hiring manager and those same two team members. Everyone was really nice. I did note that the policy team didn't seem to have much gender diversity. The interview process itself was okay, but after the second interview, they mentioned they were interested but had realized they needed someone local and asked if I'd consider relocating. This was a bit annoying since I'd been upfront about looking for remote. They said they'd follow up so I could review the salary and benefits, but I never heard back.

So I applied and first they sent me this 150 question personality test to fill out. Then a few days later, an HR person emailed me to set up a phone interview. A few days after that call, I got another email to schedule a phone interview with the executive director, which was the next week. After that call, a few days later, I got an email to set up a Skype or in-person interview with the executive director and the associate director. This final interview was an hour long and involved a lot of situational questions and a pitch about why someone should sign their kids up for the MDA. The whole thing took about a month.
