First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Murphy-Hoffman.
Management Trainee
I started the interview process in November. The recruiter mentioned on a phone call that I was highly qualified. I then went to the office for interviews with several managers. After I left, the recruiter said I'd be contacted soon. By mid-December, I hadn't heard back, so I emailed the recruiter. They told me a final decision would be communicated shortly. I graduated in December and was still waiting for an update. The company never responded, which was disappointing because I was really looking forward to starting my career there.
- What is your origin?
- Are you in a relationship?
- What knowledge did you acquire during your studies?
Manager
The interview was very professional, lengthy, but through. There were telephone interviews, multiple interviews with other managers, and then interviews with corporate personnel. All professional some could be cut out to stream line the process. All together was a good experience.
- In what ways does your present role equip you for this opportunity?
Management Trainee
I first met with a recruiter at a career fair and then spoke on the phone. After that, I was sent to a branch to meet the team and stay overnight. I got a tour of the branch and learned a lot. I then interviewed with the managers of each department: parts, service, and the branch manager. The company arranged a hotel and took us out to dinner. The branch manager drove us around after we'd all been drinking for a while, which was pretty unprofessional.
- How would you manage team members who are older than you?
