First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at MultiCare Health System.
Executive Assistant
I had a teams interview with the executives in their office and they wanted to know how I used SOPs at work and I told them we didn't use them where I worked, and were shocked to learn that, and I never got a call back and now I am pratically banned from interviewing. I never hear back for any role, even though I am more than qualified for any of their support roles. :(
- Could you tell me how you utilize SOPs in your work?
- What are your thoughts on why SOPs aren't used in your previous role?
Medical Assistant
MultiCare interviews tend to focus on their core values: respect, integrity, stewardship, excellence, collaboration, kindness, and joy. They often link their questions back to these values. So, my suggestion is to look at each value, figure out how you connect with it, and prepare an example of when you showed it or why it's crucial in healthcare.
- Can you share an instance where you demonstrated integrity?
Volunteer Coordinator
I applied online and got an email inviting me to a Zoom interview about a month later. The Director only gave me one time slot, and it was only a few days away. I had to rearrange my schedule to make it work. The Director was nice, but mostly talked about herself and her achievements. She also repeated the salary range, which was much lower than what was posted. She told me about the next interview and said I'd know about next steps by the end of the day. I heard nothing. A week later, I emailed the Director for an update, but got no response. I haven't heard anything since the Zoom interview, and my status on the career portal hasn't changed. They've reposted the job twice on LinkedIn recently. I guess I didn't get it, but this was a terrible candidate experience, especially for such a big organization. Thankfully, I got a job offer this week with almost double the salary, but I felt I had to share this experience.
- Can you tell me about yourself and your experience?
Contract Support Specialist
I applied online and was contacted by a recruiter, who set up an interview, but then ghosted me. A few months later, an assistant reached out to see if I was still interested and got me scheduled for an interview. I went through 3 interviews. The first was with two managers from the same department, one of whom was late. They seemed nice and it went okay. The second interview was with the Director, which was under 30 minutes and didn't feel great. I did it in my car, but don't think it mattered. That same day, they asked if I could interview with the contract specialist I'd work with the next day, if I got the job. That interview was stale and awkward, and made me question if I wanted the job. Four business days later, I got an automated email saying I wasn't selected. I emailed the assistant, who emailed the director. She gave a fake apology and said my criticism was maybe not interviewing in the car for a remote role, and that she picked someone she thought would be more successful. I've never had that happen. How can you tell who will be more successful in a 20-30 minute interview? I feel like I dodged a bullet because I got an offer from UW the next day. The director didn't know what DEIB meant, which is a huge red flag. I almost feel discriminated against. Overall, a very poor experience.
- How do you feel about working remotely?
