Started with a recruiter call. Then had 2 technical rounds; one focused on backend (Python, Docker, Django) and the other on frontend (JS, Typescript, React). The interviewers were super helpful and knew their stuff. After that, there was a final panel meeting with the team and hiring manager.

Technical Coding

Had two technical interviews. The first involved a puzzle, and the second was about sorting on some existing code. The interviewers weren't super helpful; they said they wanted to see our thought process but didn't really respond or give feedback when we tried to explain our thinking. The questions weren't too hard, but the time limits were tight. I had trouble connecting to their screen sharing platform twice, and even after we fixed it ten minutes late, they didn't give me extra time for the coding part. No feedback was given afterward, just a rejection saying the code wasn't clean enough. It's hard to write clean, efficient code in just 30 minutes, but whatever.

  • Could you sort a list of tuples based on the second element?

Technical Coding

First, I had a call with a recruiter. After that, there was a very short technical screening with an engineer who seemed really uninterested and made me feel like I was inconveniencing him. The whole thing was just one question about writing a decorator that prints the function call signature. Even though I admitted I hadn't done custom decorators in a while, I managed to get it done with only a couple of minor syntax errors. I knew I didn't stand a chance from the start and it felt like a waste of time.
