Behavioral Technical Coding Presentation

I was contacted on LinkedIn by a recruiter and set up an initial HR screen. It was mainly introductions where I talked about my background and the recruiter explained the role and interview steps. Then, the recruiter scheduled two 1-hour video calls with the team lead and director. The team lead's call was more technical, but without live coding. After that, I got an invite for the final round interview at the New York office the following Monday, along with instructions for a technical exercise. The director's call was less technical, just a high-level overview. The technical exercise involved writing SOAP web services in Java and creating REST APIs using the MuleSoft AnyPoint platform. The on-site interview was a role-play presentation where two interviewers acted as clients, and I pitched MuleSoft as the solution for their business and tech needs. Following that, I had a video chat with the executive director, which was short and focused more on soft skills. After the call, my on-site interviewers invited me to lunch, gave me feedback on my presentation, and outlined the rest of the process. The recruiter then asked for a reference, and I got an offer a few days later. The whole thing took less than two weeks.

The interview process took a long time, about 5 months. Initially, I went through three rounds. Then, they informed me about VISA requirements, stating I needed to travel to the EU and UK, but I only had eligibility for the EU. After two months, they contacted me again, saying their needs had changed and they only required EU travel eligibility. They flew me to London for four interviews, which I passed. I received positive feedback. However, they reached out again, stating they now needed both EU and UK travel eligibility. It was a difficult experience, and I invested a lot of time and effort. I'm questioning the ethics and professionalism of this, especially since the travel expenses to London were not reimbursed.

Behavioral Technical

Applied online, then a recruiter called a few days later to set up a phone screen. The phone screen was pretty basic, just typical HR questions. After that, I had Skype video interviews with the hiring manager and a couple of team members. The Skype connection was unreliable and dropped during each interview. They focused on my past accomplishments, career path, and some technical topics. I heard back a few days after the first round but didn't move forward.
