First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at MUFG.
Director
The interview process was a bit confusing, not as organized as it could have been. There were unclear messages about progressing to the next stage and who I'd be meeting.
- In your opinion, what is MUFG's strongest product?
Director
The interview process was pretty lengthy with over 5 different rounds of interviews. This is however understandable as company fit is very important here... understanding Japanese business culture is a critical factor in success if you get through the rounds!
- Were you asked technical questions regarding a risk area outside your expertise?
- How well do you fit with the company culture?
- Do you understand Japanese business culture?
Director
This bank will waste your time, collect your personal and professional details, and then say they'll offer you a job, but you'll hear nothing back. After going through 10 interviews for a Director position, where they told me they wanted to hire me immediately and would make me an offer, HR never got back to me. They didn't even have the courtesy to let me know their decision after I followed up via email and phone. If this is how they treat people looking to join them, I can only imagine how they treat their current employees. I was also told that decision-making authority for US operations lies with Japanese management, leaving US offices powerless.
- Could you provide some examples of your previous work?
