Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at MUFG.
Associate
The interviewers were very friendly and nice. Generally, straightforward questions were asked, including questions about banking products offered to specific clientele. Additional questions were asked about what your past experience can bring to the team.
- Could you tell me what you know about our team and the products our LOB offers to clients?
- How would your past experience benefit the team?
Senior Associate
It was a 3-round interview process. First, there was an HR screen, followed by two more rounds. The process was smooth and efficient, with clear communication and friendly interviewers. The final round was challenging, presenting some questions I couldn't answer, though they didn't feel like trick questions.
- Can you share an instance where you managed a conflict that did not resolve successfully?

Applied online and got an invitation from HR for the interview. It was a panel interview, with general, technical, and HR questions. The interview itself wasn't too difficult. However, I had to chase HR for an update after the interview. HR only informed me that I didn't proceed to the second round after two weeks of me reaching out. I asked for feedback from the interviewers but haven't heard back from HR yet, despite sending multiple reminders. Honestly, it was incompetent and unprofessional. I'm happy I didn't get the role because I'm in a much better situation now.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
- What makes you want to leave your current job?
- Why are you interested in MUFG?
