First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Muck Rack.
Software Engineer
The interview process was surprisingly smooth and enjoyable. While there were several interviews, as expected at a tech company, they were accommodating with my schedule. All interactions were with friendly, approachable people who communicated effectively.
- What motivated your application for this role?
Software Engineering Director
I went through five interviews with about seven employees, all in a behavioral format. Everything went pretty smoothly until the final stage when the recruiter stopped responding. I felt the Director team was kind of arrogant.
- Tell me about a situation where you had to get a group of people to agree on something.
Software Engineer
Muck Rack's interview process was super organized and they told me what to expect from the get-go. I knew exactly how many interviews there would be if I kept going, which helped me figure out how much time I'd need to commit and how long the whole thing might take. I figured it could drag on a bit, with one interview a week. I really wanted this job, so I knew I might have to pass on other offers that came in. It was cool to meet different people I might work with, and I liked that they really put effort into finding people who would be a good fit for the job and the company.
- Perform a technical assessment via a take-home assignment submitted as a private GitHub repository.
- Engage in a 30-minute live coding session to review the completed take-home assignment.
