Project Manager
We are looking for a Project Manager. You'll have some basic questions to answer, and we don't expect you to use the STAR method for them, like 'tell me about your day'.
- What motivates your decision to leave your present job?
- Why have you chosen to apply for a position with us?
- Can you walk me through your experience and career path?
Embedded Software Engineer
First, there was an HR screening, then an interview with the potential manager, followed by an in-person interview with several team members. The interviews weren't highly technical regarding specific engineering disciplines, focusing more on general questions about past work experience. There were quite a few more calls from HR Talent Acquisition than felt necessary.
- Can you describe an instance where you had to collaborate with a customer to define product requirements?
Technical Writer
It was a 4 round interview process. The first two rounds were 1 hour phone screens. The next two rounds were 2 hour in-person interviews. The last one included a tour of the facility. They kept saying things like "here's where you'll be working once you complete your paperwork" and "we're looking forward to working with you". They made me wait a week for a rejection notice. It was a waste of six hours of interviews and they misled me into thinking I would be getting a job offer.
- What makes you want this job?
- What are your thoughts on the company?
Systems Administrator
The interview process started with a 45-minute phone interview, followed by a 20-minute second phone interview. The total interview process spanned about 4-5 hours. I then had interviews with all the department heads I would have been working with. The final interview was with the IT Manager. About a week after the interviews, I received a call saying they were still deciding and it would take another week or two, and that I was in the final selection. I got a call two weeks later to let me know I wasn't selected, but they were very professional.
- Could you explain why manhole covers are round?
