I applied internally for a pricing position. My manager told me my skills were a match for the posting, so I applied on the company site. The hiring manager scheduled a few meetings with me, and I had three interviews. They told me within two weeks that they picked an outside candidate with more experience on a specific software platform.

The interview process spanned over 4 months. It started with an initial screening by HR, followed by a phone interview with the hiring manager. After that, there was a period of no communication, despite my attempts to get updates from the recruiter, who gave the standard response about being contacted if a decision was made. I then had a few more phone interviews with various individuals. Between each interview, I had to proactively reach out for feedback and to stay on their radar. They requested I complete an application form, which I had already submitted a month prior. Following this, there was a two-month period of silence, during which I assumed I was no longer being considered, as I received no response from the recruiter. The final interviews at HQ were poorly organized; I was told to arrive at 10 am, but my first interview wasn't until noon, forcing me to wait in the lobby for two hours. The interviews themselves were typical, and all interviewers expressed positive views on my qualifications. Afterward, I heard nothing. I followed up weekly for four weeks, eventually giving up. When they finally responded, they informed me they intended to repost the position with modified job duties. This experience suggests MSC lacks internal organization and struggles with decision execution. I regret not trusting my initial instincts and wasting five months.

The first part was a 30 minute call with the hiring manager to check if I was a good fit for the next stage. Then, I had a 30 minute in-person interview with the hiring manager, followed by a 1 hour video call with a manager in a different location. The final round involved 30 minute chats with 5 managers I would be working with if hired.
