Started with an HR call, but it was 20 minutes late. We talked about my current job, what I do, the tech stuff, how I manage teams and behavioral questions. Then, a technical interview with the Director. They asked super basic JavaScript questions, like from that "Top 30 JavaScript Questions" list. Covered React, Node.js, and general JS. The next round was another technical interview, but honestly, I didn't even know who I was talking to because they didn't introduce themselves. It was just JavaScript polyfills and one React question. After all that, got rejected via email the next day, no explanation. They only communicated through email, no calls, no reminders, nothing. The whole thing felt off, like they weren't serious about hiring and just going through the motions. Definitely one of the worst interview experiences, super unprofessional, bad communication, and confusing. Felt like they don't care about candidates' time.

The interview process with Mpower was extremely slow, taking about two months with multiple follow-ups needed for updates. This significantly impacted my time. After all the interviews, the HR stated they couldn't match my previous compensation. The overall process was very poor, and I advise caution to avoid wasting time. Additionally, there have been recent layoffs at the company.

First, there's an HR call where we'll chat about your experience, what our company culture is like, and if you're a good fit for the role. Then, we move to technical interviews. These are to check your technical chops, covering everything from basic smarts to stuff specific to the job. For instance, you might get asked about calculating an EMI or showing off your analytical skills. After that, there are management/situational interviews. These are all about how you'd handle tricky situations, juggle projects, and fit in with what the company is aiming for. Lastly, there's a senior/final round. Depending on the gig, this could be with a big boss, maybe even the CEO, to see your overall vibe and experience.

It was a dubious, time-consuming, and absolutely flawed hiring process. After what seemed like 4-5 rounds, HR mentioned they were parallel interviews with different people from various departments, but it didn't guarantee progression. They called me in for interviews at the office too. Following 6 rounds where they mostly asked generic questions and focused very little on technical skills, they took another 10-15 days to inform me that my candidature wasn't being moved forward. I recall answering all questions, but given the rejection, I assume they were looking for something else entirely. My friends have experienced similar situations here. They show no respect for candidates' time. I'm glad I didn't end up working for a company with zero empathy for its candidates/employees, as I've joined a different company.
