First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Moxa Inc..
Hardware Engineer
Stage 1: Team interview. They give a quick rundown of job duties and ask about your salary expectations, around 20 mins. Stage 2: Supervisor technical interview. Starts with a logic test and electronics knowledge questions, then a technical chat. Stage 3: Two senior managers and an HR person. This is about three hours. They don't ask many technical questions, more about problem-solving and digging into your past job responsibilities.
- How would you choose peripheral components for Boost IC design?
Software Development Engineer In Test
The interview started with a casual chat with the hiring manager about my background, motivations for seeking a new role, and past work. Then, I had to prepare and deliver a technical presentation on networking and testing, which led to a deeper dive into my previous projects and problem-solving skills. The final stage involved a discussion with the general manager about my career aspirations and how I'd fit into the team.
- Can you describe how you'd approach designing and automating tests for network features?
- Could you outline your strategy for ensuring reliability through testing?
Lead Software Engineer
First, a phone interview with a team member to see if I was willing to interview and give a quick intro to the job. Second, a remote interview with a team member to talk about and check my skills and get a job intro. Third, an on-site interview with a team member and the hiring manager. It had a 30-minute coding test and a 15-minute logic interview. I also had to introduce myself, including my work history and project experience, for an hour. Fourth, an on-site interview with the hiring manager, HR, and a supervisor. We talked about a challenge project for 15 minutes. The next steps involved a personality check, discussing management experience, and my pay expectations.
- When selecting a job, what criteria do you prioritize?
- Have you ever worked with automated software testing?
- What is the least tolerable aspect of a job for you?
Area Sales Manager
The first interview is a phone call, about 1 hour long. If the recruiter is interested in your profile, a week later you will be asked to prepare and deliver a presentation on a subject sent by email. You will present to a group acting as a virtual company. It's a bit strange though, as only the presenter acts like an Area Sales Manager, while the attendees still act like they are in a normal interview and ask quite a few questions to check your skills. They should really get into character a bit more. Otherwise, in my whole career, I've never experienced such an odd atmosphere during a presentation. It's very stressful, they are not smiling, not listening, not acting... The presenter does not have control, and never will under these conditions... As they say in French: ça devient une presentation pourri!! Good luck Moxa!
- Can you give a brief description of your professional career?
- Can you elaborate on your sales experience?
- What would you say are your strengths?
