What kind of company interviews a candidate for 5 weeks, then ghosts them? Movement Strategy! So disappointed-- met with 6 different people within the company plus the client, did a skill assessment project, and can't even get a response to emails letting me know that I did not get the job. Extremely inconsiderate not only of someone's time, but their existence as a human being. Client also had a totally different idea of what the position was, seemed like I was interviewing for a different job with them. Pretty sure this is because they're trying to hire one person for two positions starting at an already low base salary. Total chaos, please learn how to get organized and maybe respond to your candidates who you've had on the line for 5+ weeks.

The conversation mainly involved going over my resume, not really asking about specific experiences, including my social media background. It would be better to make questions fit the role better. Casual language, including swear words, was used. While I get making people comfortable, a professional tone is probably a better first impression. The job title 'Data Strategist' implies a big focus on data, but the role also seems to need social media smarts. I was told in the interview and saw in the job description that the team is a mix of both. If they want a balance, they should make that clearer in the title and description to match what candidates expect.

After applying, a recruiter named Athena contacted me a few days later to schedule a phone screen. Athena gave a general overview of the job and company and asked about my past experience. She mentioned they were eager to hire, so after the call went well, I had a 30-minute interview with the direct supervisor. Following that positive discussion, I was set up for three consecutive 30-minute interviews with other team members. I felt good about it, but a few days later, Alex, another recruiter working with Athena, informed me I wasn't chosen. The whole process was quite fast, taking less than two weeks from the initial phone screen to the final interviews.

I applied for a cool position online that was very similar to my current role but twice the salary. Neat! I immediately received call from the recruiter, who was super nice and helpful. I ended up feeling like the role was not a good fit for me, but explained I was eager to join the company in any way - she immediately told me there was another open role I'd be perfect for, and sent me details via email. It sounded great, so she passed me onto an interview with next steps. The interviewer seemed distracted and uninterested the entire interview. She asked me a few questions about my experience, and that was it. When I asked about details on the open role, she told me there actually wasn’t a current open role. She seemed confused as to why I was even interviewing. The interview felt like a waste of both of our times. I thought, ok, obviously the recruiter was over eager but can’t fault her for trying to get my foot in the door, right? But then the recruiter emailed me again to tell me the interviewer had decided to go in a different direction for the open role - the open role the interviewer just told me did not exist. So not sure if the recruiter and the company have internal communication issues, or if one of them was actively misleading me during the interview process - either way, disappointed.
