First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Mountain High Outfitters.
Sales Associate
The interview was at the restaurant next door to the store. It felt pretty relaxed, more like a chat where I did most of the talking. The questions were pretty standard, not super hard but not too vague either. You really get a chance to talk about yourself. I think the company wants people who are confident and energetic. If you're more on the shy side, this probably isn't the best fit for you.
- Can you name three traits you have that would benefit this company?
- What are three things that you are passionate about?
Sales Associate
Applied in April 2015 and got a response quickly, with the owner offering an interview. After I gave my availability, I didn't hear back for two months, despite multiple attempts to contact them. When I relocated to the area, I visited the store and was given the manager's and assistant manager's emails. I emailed them and the owner several times with no reply. Weeks later, the owner finally contacted me in August to schedule the interview. The interview with the assistant manager went well. However, when I tried to follow up, the owner didn't respond. The manager mentioned the interview window was still open nearly a month later. Still hopeful, I reapplied in October and got another interview, which was brief as the manager recognized me. I was told I'd hear back by the start of the following week but received no response. I followed up again, but the manager said he hadn't heard from the owner. After a break, I returned a week later with no update. I emailed and visited the store three times, leaving my contact info, but never got a call back. Finally, I spoke to the manager at the store and was informed that hiring was on hold, which he could have communicated three weeks earlier. I wasn't contacted again.
- Can you describe yourself in three words?
Sales Associate
I got an interview really fast after applying on Indeed, within hours of submitting my application. The interview went well, and they asked really specific questions to make sure they hired the right people for their company.
- What is something you are looking to improve upon during your time at MHO?
