First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Motorola Mobility.
Systems Engineer
I met the hiring manager of Motorola at a job fair held by my university and was contacted for an interview after a month or two. I had a phone interview with the same person that I met at the fair and another engineer. They asked me pretty standard and behavioral questions. The in-person interview was quite difficult and lasted almost an hour. I spoke with about 4 different people and with multiple at the same time. They explained to me what the company does at that office, and asked me what I've learned or what I didn't know or what I liked about the company. Some technical questions were asked as well.
- What about the stoplight scenario?
- What about the square question?
Systems Engineer
I had an on-site interview in Horsham, PA with the hiring manager. It was a pretty relaxed setting, and they made me feel really at ease. We kicked things off with some behavioral questions, then moved into basic object-oriented programming topics. The whole thing lasted about an hour. Afterwards, they gave me a tour of the lab I'd be working in.
- Can you explain the concept of inheritance?
Systems Engineer
The interview took one day, and several team members joined. Since I was a new graduate, they mainly asked questions about the projects I did in school. The people were generally very nice. I got a call from HR the very next day after the interview, and they told me I got the offer.
- Can you explain how to determine if a system uses big endian or little endian format?
