Technical Support Specialist
The interview process focused more on personal life than professional aspects. They mentioned that if someone leaves the company and wishes to return, they would be welcomed back, but this turned out to be untrue.

Support Engineer
The interview process was pretty long but also pretty clear. It started with HR screening, then I had interviews with the hiring manager and the senior manager. These interviews had both technical and non-technical questions. After that, they sent over a case study with two questions. Based on how I did on that, I had a panel interview. The final interview was with the director before they made an offer.
- Can you provide the SQL query to find the second highest salary in the employees table?
- Could you explain what the OSI layer is?
- What is the distinction between IP and DNS?
Technical Support Specialist
So there were like three people interviewing me. They started off by asking me about myself. I went into detail about my schooling and previous jobs. Since I came from academia, they wanted to know why I was looking to move into the corporate world, and I explained that while academic growth is good, it's very slow. They also asked about the essential skills for a tech support specialist and how I would manage a difficult customer. I told them that patience and listening calmly are key, and responding gently to help them without getting upset. They also asked me about challenges I'd encountered and handled in the past, and if I'd ever had any disagreements at my previous job. I mentioned I get along well with everyone and that my last workplace felt like home.
- Could you tell me about your background and professional history?
- What is your motivation for transitioning from academia to the corporate environment?
- What are the key competencies for a technical support specialist?
