First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Motive Power.
Decarbonization Manager
It was a panel with 10 folks grilling the candidate, which was kinda strange. Some of the questions were, frankly, unprofessional. A few employees in the conference room seemed uncomfortable with the interviewing conduct.

Project Manager
The interview process is a complete waste of time. Don't bother going past the first interview if you care about your career. The final interview is a total joke. The interviewers were drinking midday and the office, which was more like an apartment, smelled like spilled beer. There's no AC in the main office, and the lack of air circulation made the whole place smell awful. The final interview is panel style where they ask irrelevant questions. They don't respect your time and will laugh at you whenever they can. They have no clue what they're doing and don't seem to care about improving things at their company. Save yourself the misery and skip this firm; you'll be glad you did.
- On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate your SQL knowledge?
Consultant
The interview process involved 3 half-hour sessions. The first session was with HR, the second with other consultants, and the final one with leadership. There were about 10 people involved in total. Everyone was punctual and courteous. The questions they asked were pertinent to the job. They would provide a list of attendees beforehand, but the actual people present would vary based on availability. The entire process felt drawn out, with about a week between each interview stage. After the final round, I received positive feedback from my agent who said they'd let me know about an offer by a specific date. However, that date would pass, and they'd just say they needed a few more days to decide. This pattern continued for a month, with them assuring me I was still being considered and keeping me as a backup option. After a month, the status updates ceased, and I never received a final decision. Based on my experience and similar reviews online, if an offer isn't extended within 2-3 business days, it's best to move on.
- Could you describe your experience using Microsoft Project?
Consultant
It was pretty informal. I had two rounds with the recruiter first, then three more with the team. They really wanted to see if I'd fit in with the company culture, getting to know me as a person.
