Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Mothercare.
Sales Associate
We had a very detailed interview process. First, there was an online application. Then, we were put into groups for a stage where we had to sell an item. Finally, the last stage was a one to one interview. They asked detailed questions about sales and baby development.
- How would you go about upselling a buggy?
Sales Associate
Submitted an online application which was straightforward. Next, received an email for a video interview, which was a unique experience requiring a plain background. Before the five main questions, there was one practice question about introducing myself. Each answer had a two-minute limit, with breaks available between questions. Subsequently, another email arrived for a one-on-one interview with the shop manager, lasting about an hour and involving more in-depth questions. While not simple, it felt less stressful than the video interview. Results are pending.
- What aspects of mothercare appeal to you?
Sales Associate
It was a group interview. We each made a poster about ourselves and then presented it. After that, we had to pick a Mothercare product and try to sell it. We also had to fill out a form about our availability.
- What made you want to apply to Mothercare?
- Can you tell us a bit about yourself?
