I had a phone call interview. I don't think it's worth my time with this company since they don't seem serious about hiring externally. It feels like they are using this process to justify internal promotions. Many companies do this, interviewing outside candidates to make internal hires look better. It felt like a waste of time from the application to the hour-long phone call. I suspect HR just needed to appear busy.

I applied through campus recruiting. The first interview was on campus two weeks after I applied. Then two weeks later, I got invited to the second interview at their main office. It was about four hours long. It started with a brief presentation about the firm. Then there were four 1:1 interviews with managers, senior managers, and partners. They also hosted a post-interview social event to give candidates a chance to meet other people at the firm. Overall, everyone was very nice and friendly and the interview process is well-organized.

So first there was this phone call with a campus recruiter. Then I went to the leadership conference in LA for the second stage. It felt pretty relaxed, but they were definitely watching everything we did. This was in the summer, and then I got to interview for the internship, which would be for the next year. The last interview was two separate 30-minute chats with two different partners. Pretty standard stuff by then.
