Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Morrisons.
Graduate Role
After doing well on their test, they went radio silent for over two months. I'm still waiting to hear back. They used to send emails saying to hang tight and that my application was being handled well, but those stopped too.
- A math test was administered.
- Assessed data understanding.
- A personality quiz was given.
Graduate Trainee
You start with an online competency test. If you pass that, you're invited to a virtual assessment centre for group tasks and interviews. If you get through that, you'll be invited in for a final in-person presentation.
- Tell me about your biggest weakness.
- What are your 5-year career goals?
Graduate Scheme
After submitting my application and doing some online interviews, I was invited to an assessment centre. This was pretty bad, mainly because they had a surprise "role play" bit. You'd join a call and suddenly have a really rude, angry manager you'd never met yelling at you for 10 minutes. I'm not sure what the point was, but it didn't feel professional or like a good way to show conflict resolution skills. It also didn't seem realistic, and if that's how it is in the actual job, I'm glad I didn't get it. The job description isn't really accurate either. You start by working in a Morrisons shop for a month, then you're a line manager in a factory. Not impressed with this "graduate scheme".
- What makes you a good candidate for this role and why are you interested in Morrisons?
