Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Morningstar.

The interview process started with an online test that included business comprehension, a typing test, and questions on maths, logical reasoning, finance, and accounts. It was generally easy. Then, there was a candidate survey where I had to attend an online session about the job role and fill out a form with questions about myself. Finally, there were two Personal Interview (PI) rounds on the same day. They didn't ask any technical questions. The whole process was quite long, taking over two months from application to receiving the PI mail. The interviewers were friendly and made me feel comfortable.

The interview process was fine as a whole. I started the process in April 2024 and finished the final round in May 2024. During this final round, I got great responses from everyone who said they can't wait to see me on their team. After HR went ghost, I sent over 4 emails to Human Resources and never got a response. Several months later, still nothing. Very disappointing because I truly wanted to join the company.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
- Do you have basic knowledge about Morningstar?

The interview process included an aptitude test covering basic finance topics like IPOs, M&A, PE, and VC, as well as logical reasoning and a typing test. Following that, there was a candidate information session where the job description, perks, and teams were explained. Finally, there were two interview rounds that were mostly behavioral, designed to test your composure, confidence, and ability to relate experiences to similar real-life situations, all while maintaining a positive demeanor.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- What are your future career aspirations?
- How would you handle a difficult colleague?
