First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Morgan Sindall Group.
Design Engineer
The online application was simple. After that, I was invited to an assessment day with about 15 people. We met the team and had a Q&A. Then, we were split into smaller groups for different tasks. One task involved creating a presentation for young students about STEM, which was fun. However, the interviewers observing us seemed disengaged, talking amongst themselves and one even left, so I felt they missed key interactions. The assessment day concluded with an individual interview with an engineer and an HR member. Before the individual interview, we were given 15 minutes to examine a site and decide if it was suitable for crane loading, and if not, if a crane platform made of granular material was needed to enhance bearing capacity. The site information was poorly organized, leading to unequal preparation times depending on when people were interviewed. Additionally, candidates could leave the room, potentially researching on their phones, which felt unfair to those interviewed earlier. There was a significant waiting period, at least an hour of silence, as we waited for each person to finish their interview. The individual interview covered general competency and CV-related questions, which were straightforward. The interview felt informal, and I was led to believe it went well, with positive feedback and a promise of a quick response. However, the outcome, received a month later instead of the promised two weeks, felt disingenuous. I'm still waiting for feedback two months past the promised timeline.
