First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Moovit.
Software Engineer
we had interesting leetcode questions about data structures, design patterns, and string manipulation. then we had to go into the office for several hours of an exam on our computers, where they treated us nicely.
- Tell me about your experience with data structures.
Software Engineer
I applied online for a Software engineer role at Moovit. Within a day, HR called to discuss the position and sent a take-home assignment: devise a method for storing a rectangle composed of smaller rectangles, stating it would form the basis of the interview. After submitting my solution, HR contacted me again, confirming my submission was satisfactory and that I had an interview. The interview itself was a technical session with a team leader from a different team. Curiously, the interviewer didn't mention my take-home assignment at all and even posed the same storage problem during the interview. I found it unprofessional and disrespectful of my effort that they seemed unaware of my completed assignment.
- Design a method to store a rectangle containing other rectangles.
- Can you implement a function to determine if a binary tree is complete?
- Suppose you have a class that receives Object messages of various types. How would you manage this scenario?
Software Engineer
i had an on site interview with couple of R&D leads. they asked about my background in backend development and what areas of tech i'm familiar with (amazon services, databases etc) then asked technical questions like parallel programming in Java and more algorithmic questions about Trees.
- Could you determine if a given tree is balanced?
