Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Montefiore Medical.
Secretary
The interview was really unprofessional. The interviewer asked personal questions about my age, whether I have children, and my ethnicity. It felt like she was looking for a friend rather than a colleague. These questions were inappropriate and raised serious concerns. I didn't get the job, but I consider it a good thing because I wouldn't want to work for someone like that. MONTEFIORE DO BETTER!!
- How old are you? Do you have kids? Are you Puerto Rican??
Administrative
There were 2 interviews. The first interview discussed a higher salary for a transfer, but HR later said this was an error. The second interview was a panel interview with the department. During the interview process, I received a general idea of what to expect, but if I wasn't familiar with the departmental programs used, it was hard to estimate expectations for the new role. I can handle various, sometimes challenging, personalities.
- How would you deal with someone difficult?
Secretary
The whole interview process was incredibly long and exhausting. It took them forever just to start looking at applications, and they rarely provide any quick updates on how things are going. For such a low-paying job, it's absurd how difficult they make it to even get an interview.
- What relevant experience do you have from previous roles?
