I had two phone interviews first. Then I went for an onsite interview, which I felt went really well. The next day, HR contacted me saying I was selected for the role. As a graduating student, getting an offer from a top company was super exciting. My background check was also underway. But then, about a week later, when I followed up for the offer letter, the HR called back and casually mentioned they couldn't offer me the position due to budget constraints. I was totally taken aback because there was no apparent reason for rejection after being told I was selected. I just felt if budget was an issue, they should have figured that out before posting the job or at least before telling me I got it. All the happiness I felt for a week just vanished in a minute. I had even turned down another offer based on their confirmation of selection and promise of an offer letter. Emotionally, it was a huge blow and left me feeling dejected. I know these things can happen, but I never expected a company of this reputation to withdraw an offer after informing me of my selection and while my background check was still in progress.

The interview was very technical and overall good. They asked questions about Java, Manual Testing, Selenium, SQL, and Web Services. However, the HR took 15 days to disclose the outcome and then asked for joining within 15 days. Given 3 years of experience, it's tough to join in 15 days. I asked for a month, and the HR asked for documents and conducted verification with two people from the office, after which there was no reply.

I was contacted by a technical recruiter via email to schedule a phone screen. The phone screen was conducted by a Senior Manager and included questions about my resume and some behavioral questions. After a week, I had an in-person interview with three Senior Managers. They asked questions about my resume and technical questions relevant to the job responsibilities. My previous Quality Assurance experience was very helpful. Overall, it was a good interview.
