Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at MoneyGram.
Manager
Had 3 interviews with my future boss, a peer, and someone from another team. It was all about checking cultural fit and if I had the skills. Took about 3 weeks and then I got the offer pretty quick. Super fast process.
- Can you describe your experience leading a team?
Manager
I had a call with HR and then met with about 6 team members. The interview went super well and they told me I was the top candidate. After not hearing back for weeks, I contacted HR and they said I was still the top candidate but the hiring manager had a personal issue delaying things. A month went by with no contact and then I got an automated rejection email. Basically, I feel like I was lied to multiple times. I'd avoid this company because they seem dishonest.
- Were there specific questions you were asked from a predetermined list, or did the conversation flow more organically?
Manager
Had a quick call with HR first, then the manager I'd be reporting to. After that, it was a whirlwind couple of hours with 5-6 interviewers, about 30 mins each. Got the offer super quick, like 3 business days later. Then the standard background/drug/reference checks took about 2 weeks before I could start.
- Focus was on the specifics of HOW I would execute tasks, rather than the WHY behind them, which was quite the challenge.
