First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Mondo.
Recruiter
I went through an initial phone screen for a job opening. I checked out Glassdoor reviews beforehand but tried to go in with an open mind. Right away, I got the vibe that this is a company where everything is micromanaged, there's no work-life balance, and the teams are cliquey. When I asked about a base salary increase, the hiring lead said they'd follow up but never did. Honestly, I'm relieved I decided not to continue with the process.
- Could you give me a basic overview of the company?
Technical Recruiter
The whole process moved pretty fast, finishing up in about a week. The recruiter was awesome, staying in touch with me all the way through. She prepped me for the interviews and kept me informed about what was coming next. I landed the job, and even after I started, she continued to check in with me weekly! It was a really positive experience. I know it's their job to find good candidates, but she still checks in every week, which is nice :). The company itself is great, with tons of perks like unlimited PTO, monthly bonuses for personal care, and paid sabbaticals. The workplace is full of millennials and has a relaxed vibe. Overall, it was a fantastic experience.
- What is your motivation for pursuing a career in recruiting?
Recruiter
I was first contacted by a recruiter about a tech recruiter role. I had a phone screen that went well, and then I was invited for an in-person interview where I met with the recruiter, two employees, and the hiring manager. After that, the recruiter asked if I'd be interested in an internal recruiter position that I had initially expressed interest in. I had a phone screen with that hiring manager and then came in to shadow for about an hour. Following that, I had one more phone interview with a new hiring manager. By this point, I had taken time off work twice and interviewed three or four times. The recruiter was still in touch via email, and everything seemed to be going well, but then things went quiet around the holidays. I sent follow-up emails but never received an official offer or feedback. It's now the end of January, and I still haven't heard back. This has been a very unusual experience with too many interviews to not even get a clear response.
