Brand Manager
Tough interview, lots of out of the pocket questions that other CPGs do not ask. They will probe and want immediate answers, then they will twist the same question and want a different answer. Know your behavioural answers and also practice marketing casing.
- Can you give an example of a company with poor marketing and explain how you would improve it?
- What is your leadership style?
Assistant Brand Manager
I applied online on Mondelez website for an internship as Assistant Brand Manager. After the online application (CV, Cover letter), I took an online situational test where I had to classify 3 possible actions for 20 business situations (best, neutral, worst). This was to see how I would react in a difficult work situation. Then, I had an HR interview via Skype with someone from England. It was a classic interview: presentation, Why Mondelez?, failure situation, convincing someone, creativity... Later, I received a business case an hour before the final interview to prepare. I had to analyze sales and marketing data to decide if a product's commercialization should continue. The final interview was with two brand managers via Skype. They asked about my motivations, why Mondelez, my work experience, what I knew about the company, and why I wanted to work in this field. I then presented the business case and they asked more questions about it. The whole process was quite long, taking over a month, but the people were friendly.
- Why do you want to join Mondelez?
- Did you ever face a failure situation at work?
- Did you ever had a situation where you had to convince someone?
Assistant Brand Manager
After submitting my online application, the first step was a video introduction where I had to talk about myself, my interest in Mondelez, the specific role, and my ideal work environment. Next, there was a phone interview in English with a recruitment agency based in Poland, which was a bit challenging due to language barriers at times. During this call, I was asked to share stories about changing someone's mind at work, improving team success, and turning around a failure. Following the phone screen, an assessment centre was scheduled. Although I was told it would be in English, it was unpleasantly a surprise to find out it was in Italian on the actual day. The assessment centre included a group exercise where we had to conceptualize a new MI product, including its name, category, and launch plan. After that, there were two individual interviews for those who advanced. These interviews involved analyzing a brand's P&L statement and market data, including competitor information. I proceeded to the final interview stage, where I was asked about my favorite brand, advertisement, a market sizing question, my previous internship, and various workplace scenarios. Unfortunately, I never received any feedback after the assessment centre, which felt unprofessional considering the effort I put into preparing for each stage.
- Can you tell me about your favorite brand?
- Which advertisement do you like the most?
- Can you do a market sizing estimation?
