Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at monday.com.
Talent Acquisition Partner
The interview process has six stages: a recruiter call, hiring manager call, in-person team interview, assignment, virtual meeting with the Head of HR, and a reference check. Everyone came across as nice. While I appreciate diversity, the process felt excessive, with a clear preference for certain folks. Candidates are cut quickly, particularly during the assignment stage, even though recruiter styles and expectations vary widely within Monday.com’s own interviewers. There’s also noticeable interview fatigue throughout the calls. The role is frequently reposted, so try to ask about that in a creative way to inquire why. Other candidates on Glassdoor shared similar experiences, but I chose to give Monday.com the benefit of the doubt—only to be left without clear feedback.

The interview process seemed okay overall. I felt the interviewers were a bit junior, and it felt more like a Q&A than a conversation. They seemed to be taking notes to check boxes and didn't seem to be really listening. It felt a bit off, and maybe the interviewers were new to Monday.com. I didn't get much feedback on my answers. I don't think the company culture is a good fit for me. Good luck to others.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- Could you present 3 candidate profiles and justify your choices?
- Can we discuss your stakeholder management skills further?
Recruiter
I was contacted by an internal recruiter for an initial screen, which went well. The next interview was a Zoom call with a newer recruiter and a long-term HR leader. It was uncomfortable because they spent time praising each other, making me feel like I was interrupting. They asked questions about a time I failed, and I felt they disliked me because my personality wasn't as effusive as theirs. Surprisingly, I advanced to a live assignment, which made me excited about the company. I was invited onsite and met with two great recruiters. I was surprised by the rejection afterward, but I understand companies look for specific things. I asked for feedback but received none, which was disappointing given the effort I put in. As a recruiter, I always provide feedback. It wasn't a match, but overall it was a great process, except for that one weird, uncomfortable round with the two recruiters gushing over each other. My feedback for them would be to avoid that in the future.
- Can you share an instance where you experienced failure?
