First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at monday.com.
Customer Success Manager
The interview journey kicked off with a basic recruiter call to discuss my background. Next up was a take-home task on the platform, with a suggestion to cap it at 4–5 hours. After that, I had to present my work to two people from the team. The project guidelines were clear, but the presentation expectations weren't well-defined. Even though they said we weren't supposed to be product gurus, the questions they asked were pretty deep, which seemed a bit much given the time limit for the assignment. Overall, it was just an okay experience; better info on how to present would have made it smoother. The interviewers were nice and professional, though, hinting at a good company vibe.
- Can you share an instance where you faced a conflict with an internal team and describe how you resolved it?
Customer Success Manager
It was a 6-stage interview process. It started with HR, then the team, followed by a task, then management, another HR round, and finally an in-person meeting with the team. The initial HR interview was quite unique compared to my previous experiences. They really delve into your skills and past roles. It's uncommon for HR to have such a deep understanding of a CSM role, but at Monday, they did. My suggestion is to approach this interview as if your future manager were the one asking the questions.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
- Can you describe a situation you faced?
Customer Success Manager
The interview process involved a screener, a demo, an interview with the hiring manager, and an HR interview. The order of these steps was seen as an inequitable use of candidates' time. It was noted that asking for 10-20 hours of unpaid work before speaking to a team member, only to receive a template rejection, was surprising. A suggestion was made for recruiters to complete the interview process respectfully if they are going to ask for candidates' time.
- In the demo, can you explain the lengthy HR interview that's the final step?
- How do you define 'culture fit' and what does it mean in the context of this interview?
- What is the process for determining 'culture fit' during the HR interview?
