I had a phone interview first, then went to an assessment centre. The assessment centre had role plays, group tasks, and a competency-based interview. A bunch of managers and HR people were there, and also quite a few other candidates. It felt like a lot given the job, and kind of daunting and tiring, but I guess it's about seeing if you fit the culture and to make sure people don't leave quickly. I learned stuff from it though and was glad I did it after.

I learned about the opening through my distributor network contacts before it was publicly posted, so definitely do your research and talk to people. Then, I met with the local market GM to talk about the job, and for him to learn about me. About two weeks later, I was contacted to schedule an interview. Two days before the interview, I got a business scenario for the role I was applying for in that market, and I had to create a presentation. At the interview, the GM was there, along with my potential boss and the person I'd be replacing. I gave my presentation, and the whole thing lasted almost 3 hours. I didn't hear back for about two weeks, then I was invited to an event with the hiring manager and met his team. After another two weeks, I got the offer. The whole process took about 7-8 weeks.

Behavioral Technical Presentation Other

The first step was a phone chat with HR where they went over my resume and asked a few situational questions like "Tell me about a time when you...". I also had to do an online personality test on the MillerCoors site as part of the application. Then, there was a panel interview with the hiring manager and at least one other team member. I had to give a sales case study presentation, and it was interesting because there wasn't a projector, we were just sitting around a table. After the presentation, they asked more about my background, more behavioral questions, and how I'd handle customer opportunities. They really dug into my knowledge of the customer, their strategies, and challenges, even though I hadn't worked with them before. I heard back quickly, either that day or the next, about moving to the final stage. The final stage involved an online assessment called Caliper, which tested IQ, strategic thinking, and personality, looking at strengths, weaknesses, and potential. It included standard personality questions, analogies, and pattern/code deciphering. After that, I had a quick call with the hiring manager who asked a couple of follow-up questions about the assessment. At the end of that call, he said they wanted me on the team. A few days later, I got the official offer, pending the background check and drug screen.
