The interview process was very disorganized. I first got a call from the hiring manager during work hours, even though she knew I was still employed. I called her back the next day, and she called me again during work hours instead of scheduling a better time. She briefly discussed the job and then moved straight into a technical interview. This technical interview was an hour long with her and another person, and they didn't even turn on their cameras, which was incredibly awkward. A recruiter was CC'd on the initial invite, but I had no contact with them until after the technical assessment. After passing that, I got another invite for a 30-minute interview. I emailed the recruiter to find out who it would be with and if cameras were optional. Her response clearly showed she hadn't read my email. I then had a 10-minute, camera-off, very awkward interview with her where she asked why I wanted to leave my current job and what my salary expectations were. I stated my minimum, which was within their stated salary range, and I have more experience than they asked for. Three days later, I was rejected, presumably due to salary, despite my figure being within their wide range. It felt like a complete waste of time, and I have no idea how this company operates. They didn't even conduct a proper recruiting call first. They also asked me to dictate code for them to type, which is not a real technical assessment. I have high standards for how companies should function, so I'm glad this didn't work out.

The interview process was short, consisting of only one initial round. My background in healthcare analysis was key to getting an interview. In the end, they suggested I explore other roles at the company, but I didn't pursue that.

I had a really good interview process for this contract role. It consisted of just one face-to-face interview and one phone interview. The hiring manager asked some solid questions about Data Analysis, though two concepts, correlated subqueries and the exist clause, were brought up that I don't actually use in my work, which was a bit of a curveball. Overall, the questions were fair.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • Can you explain the exists clause in SQL?
  • What are correlated subqueries and how are they used?
