This was an on-campus recruitment drive. They mainly asked questions about my resume and the specifics of my projects, which I felt confident answering. In terms of Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA), they inquired about sorting techniques and asked me to implement a sorting algorithm of my preference. When I asked for feedback, they mentioned they would provide it to the placement department, to which I simply agreed.

Applied through the career site and got an initial call. It seems like there were 3 to 4 interview rounds in total since I was rejected in the second round. The first round was a 30-minute call with the recruiter to discuss my current role and interest in this position. After that, a one-hour Microsoft Teams meeting was scheduled with the Technical Manager. The interviewer was knowledgeable and supportive, though he talked a lot about his own past jobs. The interview covered runtime/space complexities, design principles, past experiences (projects, tools, high-level design), data structures, and design patterns.

  • Can you list some SOLID principles and provide examples of their application in your work?
  • Regarding design patterns, which ones have you implemented in your projects, and how?
  • What's the runtime complexity for a prime number finding function with a specific modification?

So, the interview process was pretty chill. I talked to four different people for about 30 minutes each. First up was someone from HR, then I chatted with a Director of Engineering, followed by a Design Engineer, and finally an Engineering Manager. It was a casual vibe in a small office. They hit me with a bunch of questions, mainly about my past experiences and what software I'm familiar with. The engineers seemed more interested in how I approach learning software rather than the specific programs I know.

  • Can you tell me about your experience with 3D modeling programs?
  • Have you worked with any modules for heat transfer or mass transfer?
  • What kind of businesses do you see yourself in?
