First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Molex.
Process Engineer
It was a pretty thorough process, I had 5 different interviews. First, there was a recruiter call, then a call with the direct supervisor, followed by a call with their supervisor. After that, I had an in-person meeting with both supervisors and a coworker. Finally, I had another interview with a random manager from a department that wasn't related to mine. The questions were straightforward.
- Can you describe an instance where a project didn't go according to plan?
Process Engineer
The company uses a recruitment agency. During the online interview, the interviewer kept their camera on, and a rude Singaporean engineer was present. There was noisy background sound from the interviewer's mic. The presentation from start to finish was one-way, with no interaction with the candidate. It felt like they were forced to work there. Since it was my first interview, I didn't perform as well as I could have. I'm now happily offered by another company with a much higher salary than this one initially proposed.

Manufacturing Engineer
I was interviewed by two people, the Engineering Manager and the HR Manager. The HR manager was pleasant, but the Engineering Manager appeared unfriendly, and I immediately sensed potential bias from him. They asked very few technical questions during the brief 30-minute interview, which wasn't a positive indicator. I was able to answer all the questions they did ask. What was frustrating was their statement at the end that they would inform me of their decision either way. I attempted to follow up multiple times via email to the manager and phone calls/texts to the Talent Acquisition person, but received no response. Given this initial lack of communication, I question the appeal of pursuing a career with this company. My last name is Hispanic, and I suspect they may have made assumptions before seeing me. As I mentioned, I perceived bias from the outset.
- Could you describe the last item you designed?
- Tell me about a lean project you were involved in.
