It was a very relaxed, informal introductory chat. We went out for a nice lunch a couple of years back. They were really nice and easy to talk to. We talked about my background in the industry, and we both shared some customer insights.

At Mohawk Industries, the interview process is designed to get a feel for your background. You can expect questions about your familiarity with our products, how you lead teams, your ability to juggle many projects, and how you handle employees who aren't meeting expectations. They'll also want to know if you're open to relocating, how you proactively suggest improvements, if you're okay with loud machinery, and how you make sure everyone on your team follows the rules.

Behavioral Presentation

I applied a while back and a DM reached out recently. The interview was the next day at a flooring store. When I arrived, the DM spent about 30 minutes showing me around the store and talking about their carpets. Honestly, I zoned out after about 5 minutes. I thought we'd sit down and talk about the job and my background. The DM was a nice guy, but his interview style was lacking. We were there for an hour and a half, and I barely spoke 10 words. He just kept talking and rambling, jumping from topic to topic. I didn't really get a clear picture of what the job entailed. Eventually, we got to salary, and he offered $50,000 per year. That's when I knew it wasn't the right fit for me. I just didn't feel good about selling carpets, it felt a bit like being a used car salesman.
